Head Start Program

At-risk children in the Orange County Head Start Summer Program can experience the magic of art and literacy through engagement with the OMA’s Permanent Collections and through the stories and illustrations in such beloved picture books as Leo Lionni’s “Little Blue and Little Yellow.” Through the utilization of art, a powerful and universal form of expression, and literacy, this program is designed to encourage a love of reading in children at a young age and, as a result, help lay the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Through this collaboration, the OMA can continue to enhance the lives of hundreds of children through art and literacy.
