Youth and Family

June 7, July 5 and Aug. 2
1st Saturday, Family Fun at the OMA, 10 a.m. - noon

Join us each month for a fun, affordable morning where families explore art, music, stories and other activities together. 1st Saturday is geared to families with children ages 3 to 5. Registration is not required, and admission is only $5 per family.

June's theme is Dinosaur Bob. Kids will make dinosaur hats, do the Hokey Pokey and even dig for "dino" bones in a mini-paleological dig.

July's 1st Saturday theme is George Shrinks, and the theme for August is Rolie Polie Olie.

The Heritage Circle is a sponsor for The World of William Joyce.

Thursdays through Aug. 28
Creation Station, 2 - 3:30 p.m., and FREE Thursday afternoons for local residents

(Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties), 1 - 4 p.m.
Families can "drop by" Creation Station where learning is fun for both children and adults. Each art project costs only $1 per child and makes a wonderful souvenir from the museum.

June 12
Stories and Songs in the Gallery, 2:30 p.m.

Join Connie Cazort for another magical and musical afternoon of stories and songs from The World of William Joyce. Free with museum admission and registration is not required.

Museum admission is free for local residents on Thursday afternoons from 1 - 4 p.m.

July 19
Storybook Reading with Bob Frier, 1:30 p.m.
Musical Storytime with Mr. Richard, 2 p.m.

Put on your dancing shoes and sing-along with Mr. Richard as he strums his acoustic guitar and sings his whimsical tunes during this musical story time in conjunction with The World of William Joyce. Bob Frier from Channel 6 will also read William Joyce stories in the gallery. Free with museum admission, and registration is not required.
