Of Cloth and Culture II -
African Textiles from the Norma Canelas and William D. Roth Collection
The ninth in a series of exhibitions drawn from the Norma Canelas and William D. Roth Collection of African Art, this exhibition will feature 45 extraordinary examples of textiles and beadwork from a number of regions of the African continent. Highlights include a colorful Kente cloth of West Africa, beautifully beaded aprons of the Kirdi in Cameroon, a Zulu wedding cape and embellished animal skins of the San people of South Africa, as well as a number of stunning beaded crowns and headdresses of the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The Roth Collection has been recognized by Art and Antiques Magazine as one of the top 100 art collections in America.

The American Collection -
This exhibition will present more than 40 paintings and sculptures from the nation’s early years through the 20th century. These works will reflect many important trends in American art and reveal much about the values and aspirations of the American people over the course of time. Among the artists represented in this exhibition will be Thomas Moran, Georgia O’Keeffe, George Inness, Herman Herzog, Robert Henri and Charles Sheeler, among others.

Without a Trace: Artists Imagine a World Without Us -
Alan Weisman’s book, The World Without Us, is an imaginative but well-researched exploration of just how nature would go about un-doing what civilization has wrought. At times frightening and sometimes encouraging, Weisman’s work served as the inspiration for this exhibition. Featuring significant works of contemporary art from local collections, this exhibition will provide an objective look at how the natural world could encroach on our manmade landscape and the human will to survive and leave a mark....

Nature & Spirit: American Art of the 19th and 20th Centuries -
Artists help shape our concept of what we see as beautiful and inspiring about nature. This exhibition will feature 25 paintings, sculptures, ceramics and other decorative arts of the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century.
