Clyde Butcher: Big Cypress Swamp and the Western Everglades

Big Cypress Swamp and the Western Everglades features 40 stunning large-format black-and-white photographs by this renowned Florida artist. In the tradition of Ansel Adams’ iconic large format photographs of Yosemite and Yellowstone, Clyde Butcher composes his works at pristine and untarnished locations across the Big Cypress Swamp, creating arresting compositions that distinctly mark him as the foremost landscape photographer of natural Florida.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a 56 minute documentary “Big Cypress Swamp: Western Everglades” that shares the history of the Western Everglades preservation and showcases Big Cypress as an ever evolving, complex ecosystem. The producer/cinematographer Elam Stolzfus is a nationally acclaimed and award winning filmmaker.
