December 2008

Jude Goodier-Mojher, Associate Curator of Youth and Family Programs, is the 2008 Museum Educator of the Year in the State of Florida, as elected by the Florida Art Education Association.


April 2009


The State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs, has selected Jan Clanton, Associate Curator of Adult Programs, as one of its “Inclusive Culture Award” recipients for 2009. She is the winner in the “Best Access Initiative with a Small Investment” category for her instrumental work in the creation and successful implementation of the Art’s the Spark program.

Executive Director Marena Grant Morrisey has been nominated for the Women Who Mean Business Award recognizing Central Floridians that have made significant business and civic accomplishments.

The new OMA logo, designed by  Push, Inc., is featured in Logo Design Vol. 2, the world's best graphic symbols, trademarks and logotypes by Taschen Books.


July 2009

Andrea Long, OMA Registrar, has been awarded a scholarship for the Rollins College Crummer Management Certificate Program.

The OMA is recognized in the Orlando Weekly's Best of 2009 with "Best Makeover" for our new logo and website. The OMA is also recognized as the "Best Museum."

OMA's Summer Camp was voted "coolest camp" in an online survey conducted by Fox 35 TV.


October 2009

Tom Warlow, OMA past Chairman, won the John Meyer Tiedtke Lifetime Achievement Award for exemplary philanthropy.

OMA Executive Director Marena Grant Morrisey was presented with the Women's Achievement Award in Arts & Culture by the Women's Executive Council. Marena was nominated by our past Chairman, Curtis McWilliams. The Women's Executive Council is a charitable organization that presents scholarships to women enrolled in local colleges, and recognizes outstanding women in the Orlando area for their contributions to the community.

The Orland Business Journal presented the OMA with the 2009 Reader's Choice Award for Best Art Gallery.

April 2010

The OMA's new program Art's the Spark @ OMA was ranked number one by the state of Florida in its Arts & Wellness category.

The OMA's new brand was named a Rebrand 100 Global Award Honoree.
