Docent Corps
OMA is now recruiting new members for the docent corps. Docents are volunteer tour guides that come from all walks of life to teach people about permanent and temporary collections at the OMA. We are eager to expand our Docent Corps to reach a wide variety of visitors including speakers of other languages and different cultures.

Interested persons should be comfortable speaking to groups and working with children and young adults. Commitment is eight hours per month during the school year. Docents lead tours for students in grades 3-8 and special tours for secondary and college-level students.

Docents also lead tours for adults based on the OMA’s permanent collection and traveling exhibitions. Interested persons should be comfortable speaking to adults and working independently.

A required 10-week training course given each fall is provided free to provisional docents. Ongoing training for special exhibitions is conducted throughout the year.

If you are interested in training to become a docent, please contact the volunteer department at 407 896 4231 x260, or click here.
